Continuing education for the medical profession.
The organization's primary service is to sponsor an annual program of continuing education for the physical therapy industry. the academy publishes a state of the academy electronic newsletter three times a year, in addition to a bi-monthly electronic newsletter on all things related to practice for its members. All newsletters contain articles of continuing interest to the profession. the academy is comprised of three areas of practice: clinical electrophysiology, biophysical agents, and wound management. The academy serves each area of practice by:protecting & defending pt practice through advocacy in regulatory, legislative & reimbursement arenasencouraging high standards of practice via member involvement in abptsendorsing growth in practice through support of education & trainingserving as a resource and forum for individuals as part of the management of patient/client medical conditionspromoting patient care through education, clinical practice and research, as well as multidisciplinary dissemination of ptbased knowledge
