Equestrian, fox hunting sport
Woodbrook hunt club sponsors a number of pony club events and, as it is the only nationally recognized foxhunting group between california and canada, it is used extensively for education about the sport. Club members give talks about the sport, and preserving the unique nature of it, to various groups and charities. Demonstrations educate the public at several charitable events each year. In addition, the club is involved with "horses for heroes", a therapeutic riding program for wounded veterans returning from the middle east (the club is located adjacent to ft. Lewis and mcchord air force base). The club also sponsors events and rides which benefit members of both military bases. A number of club members ride in and/or donate to "the ride for research" benefitting the wsu equine research program, as well as other local charitable and environmental efforts.
