The organization's primary mission is to operate and maintain the bainbridge public library building and grounds and to ensure a vibrant public library on bainbridge island.

Bainbridge public library (bpl) provided an inviting community library space for over 200,000 visitors in 2017. Bpl provided all utilities, maintenance, and repair of the facilities and grounds. Bpl completed the updating and remodeling of the library interior in 2017. Bainbridge public library supports the profession of librarians through the cindy harrison library scholarship fund, which provides scholarships to kitsap regional library employees or volunteers, who are attending an approved graduate program towards an mls degree.
