Mission

To advance the arts, sciences, and technology of aeronautics and astronautics and to nurture and promote the professionalism of those engaged in these pursuits. The institute shall encourage original research, foster dissemination of new knowledge, further professional development of those engaged in scientific and engineering activities, improve public understanding of the profession and its contributions, foster education in engineering and science, promote communication among engineers and scientists and with other professional groups, and stimulate outstanding professional accomplishments. It shall also serve the needs and professional interest of members, bring to bear the scientific and technical capabilities of the profession in areas of national concern where it is equipped to contribute, and undertake other measures appropriate to its mission.

Programs

Technical activities (conferences): the institute conducts technical conferences that provide a forum for members from industry, academia, and government to present and exchange information with their peers in the aerospace community. technical publications: the institute publishes eight peer-reviewed scholarly scientific and technical journals in the aerospace field and produces a series of textbooks for students in the aerospace field. A database of scientific studies in the aerospace field is produced and maintained by the institute as well. member services: includes corporate and professional member forums and meetings to discuss aerospace technical and community issues, section activities, professional honors and awards, and aerospace america magazine. outreach, strategic plan initiatives, business development, custodial
