Aiha promotes healthy and safe environments by advancing the science, principles, practice, and value of industrial hygiene and occupational and environmental health and safety.

Programs

Laboratory accreditation, proficiency testing, and asbestos analysis registry provides services to evaluate and recognize labs measuring up to and maintaining a high level of professional performance. Services include testing lab audit samples for metal, silica, asbestos, and other organic solvents. These services promote studies, education, evaluation, and control of environmental stress in the workplace. conferences on industrial hygiene expose members to new issues in the field and allows members to establish connections that will help them enhance the profession. volunteer engagement supports the key volunteer functions of aiha. There are over 45 volunteer groups of technical committees, working groups, and special interest groups that represent key areas of the industrial hygiene field for educational development and technical advancement for the aiha. In addition to the volunteer groups there are over 70 local sections across the u. S. And other countries that serve the interest of those professionals in geographic areas with a particular focus on professional development and government affairs. All of these groups actively support the aihce, and are in turn supported by the leadership workshop which helps to train the leaders of these groups as well as the future leaders program that seeks to develop young professionals with demonstrated potential that will be leaders of these groups going forward. monthly technical journals addressing industrial hygiene topics, issues and developments to benefit aiha members, product development, communications, government affairs, and continuing education and certification in industrial hygiene.
