Aaps advances the capacity of pharmaceutical scientists to develop products and therapies that improve global health.

Educational programs:aaps provides its members with a broad and evolving array of educational programs. For fy17, approximately 8,000 registrants paid to attend aaps educational meetings and workshops. Events included our annual meeting with 6 short courses, our annual nbc conference with 2 short courses, 10 workshops, and 4 focus group meetings. Aaps also offers elearning opportunities through its online education program. There were 31 free webinars. membership programs:aaps keeps members updated on association news and the latest information related to the pharmaceutical sciences. In fy17, the following products and services were available to members: aaps newsmagazine (a monthly four color publication); the opportunity to become part of 9 professional sections, 87 student chapters, and 13 discussion groups; job boards providing employment opportunities; career development articles; a salary survey of pharmaceutical scientists; governance; awards; a mentoring program; an online membership directory and continual notification of upcoming events in the scientific community. publications:aaps and its publisher produce one monthly print and electronic research journal and two bimonthly electronic research journals, provided to all aaps members and to over 13,000 organizations worldwide. In fy17, there were more than 1. 1 million downloads of journal content. Aaps members have free access to aaps journals. In fy17, aaps and its publisher also published 1 scientific book and sold more than 900 copies with more than 139,000 downloads of 27 book titles. Aaps also provides the pharmaceutical science community with a blog that received more than 83,000 page views in fy17. aaps foundation:established in 2013 as a program of aaps, the foundation provides new mechanisms to enhance our support of pharmaceutical scientists. Contributions to the foundation provide vital funding beyond regularly financed activities in the areas of pharmaceutical research, education, and training. In 2014 several funding priorities were established including teach the teacher toolkit, undergraduate research scholarships, graduate student fellowships, multi-year new investigator grants, and leadership skills boot camp.
