To promote the public welfare and enhance the reputation of the consulting engineer by encouraging the maintenance of the highest standards of professional ethics and practice; to encourage the intellectual and scientific advancement and development of the members in order to enhance their professional and economic welfare; to foster harmony, cooperation and mutual understanding throughout the engineering and allied professions; and to act on on behalf of the members in connnection with proposals of government or other bodies concerning them.
