Networking: the women's energy network (wen) appalachia chapter fosters the development and advancement of women in energy by developing a strong network of women that are a source of referrals, advice and support. Wen appalachia provides high caliber events to its diverse membership from across the energy value chain. In 2017, wen appalachia held its second boots and ball-gowns gala which was attended by more than 150 members and non-members and provided an excellent networking opportunity. Wen appalachia also conducts sporting clay events each year to enable women to become more proficient in this sport, which is often used for business development. education: women's energy network (wen) appalachia hosts monthly luncheons, evening events and special programs for approximately 15-75 members, non-members and guests featuring exceptional speakers and providing educational topics related to professional and personal development. leadership: the women's energy network (wen) appalachia offers leadership and growth opportunities to its members through participation on the board of directors. Wen appalachia also offers opportunities for women to be committee chairs. In total 33 positions are available each year. Board members and committee chairs also attended 2 retreats in 2017 during which the vision of wen appalachia was discussed. The first retreat discussed events for the year, while the second retreat was a review of the lessons learned during the year.
