Public & Societal Benefit

Since 2012, by request we have sent over 9 million promise cards to 150+ countries. Our character education lessons have been downloaded by over 1,000 educators, and our assembly speeches, led by alex sheen, our founder has reached over 150,000 students. We have collected testimonials from students, teachers, and adults who use our character development curriculum and lessons. They have shared that these resoures influence their ability to keep their own commitments and promises they made to others. our program is based on best practices in character education and the developmental needs of adolescents designed to promote values that have cognitive, emotional and behavioral implications. We focus on intrapersonal values, like honesty, compassion and civic virtues such as good citizenship. Personalized development lessons are designed as both direct and indirect learning through activities like promise cards and planners, videos, reflections, and volunteer projects. Students learn to understand the importance of choosing the way they behave in situations. high school chapters provide character education programming and service learning through volunteer projects. Monthly meetups led by student leaders who attend leadership training teach fundamentals like self-control, honesty, accountability, sacrifice, and compassion. The volunteer projects in their community give each student the direct experience of keeping a promise. We know some students are one promise away from graduating, helping others, and being leaders in their communities.
