How we serve: by educating, encouraging, receiving and administering individuals and organizations' gifts and responsibly distributing charitable contributions to altru patient care programs and services. Whom we serve: any individual or organization who shares a connection with altru health system and a concern for quality health care. Who we are: an essential subsidiary 501(c)(3) corporation with its own board of directors responsible to our donors and the altru health system board of directors.

The primary purpose of altru health foundation is to raise funds for other tax-exempt organizations sponsored by altru health system. Total grants and disbursements to altru health system and affiliates totaled $1,427,967 from unrestricted sources. This funding helped in funding of cancer research, diabetes education, and several other departments' program and general needs. grants to non-altru nonprofit entities including home delivered meals, third street clinic, and myra foundation to further their missions and continue their services to the region.
