Programs

Cultural programming-the aim-ic program served approximately 760 youth, elders, adults and community members throughout 2016 by attending the gathering of sacred pipes sundance, on the red road pow wow and the aim-ic open house and the interpretive center's grand opening. Aim-ic community education and social justice advocacy-served approximately 300,000 people through radio, television, individual presentations, youtube, aim redbook, facebook, website, newspapers, on-line newspapers educating the public on aim history and the harmful effects of indian mascots and other racial imagery have on our community and american indian youth. Aim-ic social justice advocacy-approximately 70 people contacted aim-ic with social justice concerns. Aim-ic provided direct referrals and advocacy for individuals who requested assistance. Aim-ic interpretive center's "thunder before the storm lodge" received and provided information to 480 visitors in 2016. The visitors were youth, students, community members, educators, researchers and the general public. Individual and group tours were offered to visitors. The thunder before the storm lodge held one exhibit in 2016, called "the bitter sweet winds".
