Mission

The museum holds the largest public collection of american magic artifacts and archival collections in the united states. It was founded in 1978. It was established as a not-for-profit museum in 1995. The board is dedicated to ensuring the museum flourishes and has recruited trustees from across the region to create a working board with professional skills. The museum's mission is to inspire and delight the public with the wonder of magic, and to document and celebrate the contributions and resilience of the magician in the history of american entertainment. Its vision is to be a national resource and premier attraction built on unparalled collections and innovative visitor centered experiences, employing the highest standard of scholarship and stewardship. The museum holds one of the country's finest magic collections, including apparatus and illusions, more than 7000 books on conjuring, letters, diaries, manuscripts, memorabilia, playbills, photographs, etc.

Programs

The american museum of magic offers magic programs at various times throughout the year. In july, magicians performed at the museum's annual magic gala. This annual event raised nearly $8600 for the museum. october is magic month and the museum celebrated by hosting performances on three saturdays. in july and august the museum hosted its fourth annual magic camps. These camps provide introductory magic lessons to new campers as well as provide more advanced lessons to returning campers.
