AIL has 2 offices in Afghanistan that are dedicated to improving and increasing healthcare and education opportunities for poor Afghans, especially women and children. AIL also provides training in leadership, democracy, human rights and much more, including training teachers in modern methods. AIL also provides emergency aid, legal aid and culture revival classes. AIL previously worked in Afghan refugee camps in Pakistan for many years.
