Zlf mission is to support the junior league of kansas city missouri's programs that provide financial and other support for the educational department of the kansas city zoo.

Animals

For 2016 the zlf provided funds to the friends of the zoo for:a. Volunteer training programb. After school programs, taking zoomobile to schools for children who stay after theschool day. 5 schools were in the program for a 15 week semester. C. Marketing campaign for zoomoblied. Summer camp at the zoo - provided camp scholarships, education an accreditationfor camp coordinater and continuing ed for insturctorse. Volun teen program - promotes teen volunteers. Develops their interest in zoolearning, animals, and potential future staff and volunteersf. Professional development for certified interpretive training. G. Nature play design - included workshops, training staff, and designednature play space to be built at a later timeh. Jane goodall conservation event - included publishing a book on chimps anddelivering "chimp intensive" to 17 sites. I. Stem in the classroom - curriculum to be used outside of the zoo, in classrooms. Secondary science classrooms made use of the curriculum.
