The academy holds an annual scientific meeting where members and non-members present their research relating to aphasia. Topics typically include (but are not limited to):-brain mechanisms of language processing-linguistic analysis of language breakdown-the relation between language and other cognitive processes-patients of impairment and recovery across language domains including phonology, orthography, lexical-semantic morphosyntax pragmatics-recovery of brain fuction (neuroplasticity)
