Practice and governance - presented conferences, educational courses, and meetings. Enhanced the profession of physical therapy by assisting members in their understanding of the rules and regulations relating to the payment procedures of government agencies and insurance companies, and by facilitating research, quality practice and quality review functions related to the physical therapy profession. In 2017, the following conferences, educational courses, and meetings were held: -professional development programs: 49. -conference: 2 days: attendance: 320. ipta electronic publications: keeping you connected - distibuted twelve times to members (4,000 per issue), your advocate - distributed twelve times to members (4,000 per issue), leadership update - distributed twelve times to volunteers (65 per issue), ssig news - distributed eleven times to student members (900 per issue). public relations - engaged in the recruitement and retention of members. Worked to identify and meet the needs of members through newsletters, publications, website and other related materials. Worked to increase public awareness of physical therapy through outreach materials, events and media. legislation - worked to educate, inform, monitor and advocate on behalf of ipta membership legislative developments related to physical therapy. Continued to develop and enhance legislative relationships. Continued to work with and gain support from other healthcare provider organizations and consumer groups.
