Programs

The ywca child care resource and referral program works to increase the availability of affordable, quality child care in lake county by recruiting and educating child care providers; providing fee referrals to 1,005 parents for quality child care; and administering the state child care assistance program for approximately 3,002 income eligible, working parents (87% single-mother, head of household) to receive financial assistance for child care while at work. Total expenses were $1,466,579. ywca breakfast clubs and after school programs focus on youth success and school readiness, providing over 300 children, ages 5 to 12, from low-income families (90% single-mother/ head of household, 86% eligible for state child care assistance) with affordable, high quality care before and after school, school holidays and full-day summer camps with a curriculm that includes homework assistance, reading skills and development. Total expenses were $636,769. ywca education and training programs offer bilingual financial literacy, jobs skills training, computer literacy, professional/career development, english with a purpose (esl), life skills, parenting and family management classes to over 1,000 lake county women, 4,106 participants in child care provider professional training, 2,507parents of children 0 to 5 years. Total expenses were $496,638.
