To address critical issues affecting allied health education and to support and improve the quality of education in the allied health field. Allied health education issues include health care policy, workforce needs, personnel preparation and utilization, accreditation and professional standards of practice, and technological advances.

Journal of allied health: the journal is the interdisciplinary allied health periodical, publishing scholarly works related to research and development, feature articles, research abstracts and book reviews. Readers of the journal comprise allied health leaders, educators, faculty and students. Subcribers to the journal consist of domestic and international college and university libraries, health organizations and hospitals. annual conference: the annual conference attendees participated in three plenary sessions, ten concurrent sessions on various topics, committee/task force meetings, a business meeting, dean's council and associate/assistant deans' council meetings, faculty meeting and a dinner/awards ceremony public affairs: public affairs activities of asahp including notifying the membership of federal agency grant and contract opportunities, legislative developments, and calls for nominees to participate in governmental advisory groups and commissions. A related aspect is to inform congress and federal agencies of the importance of including allied health among the various professions when proposing solutions to health workforce challenges and problems.
