Mission

ATRA was founded in 1996 to meet the needs of the ever-growing user group of trail and mountain runners nationwide and is membership-based. ATRA''s efforts include environmental awareness and preservation of our nation''s trails, staging races to provide a venue for participation in our sport, offering a forum whereby the needs and concerns of our sport may be addressed.

Programs

ATRA has an office in Boulder, Colorado manned by our president Adam Chase and an office in Colorado Springs, Colorado run by our executive director Nancy Hobbs. ATRA provides information to trail and mountain running enthusiasts from the neophyte to the experienced users by phone or email. ATRA publishes a quarterly newsletter, Trail Times, for our members, a Web site with race results and current information on the sport, discounts to publications, and a nationwide calendar of events.ATRA sponsors and supports trail, mountain, and snowshoe races in Colorado.
