The mission of the alcott center for mental health services is to enhance the quality of life, promote independence and empower individuals with mental illness to live productive and meaningful lives. The alcott center provides high quality treatment and supportive services within a caring, respectful community.

Current programs:mental health services: during 2016-2017 406 clients were served. Nearly 10,000 client visits took place. The clinical program treats transitional age (18+), adult and older adults and focuses on providing individuals with the support, information, and the skills training needed to manage their mental health, pursue recovery and maximize their potential. Staff collaborates with patients and their families to develop personal life goals and a plan of how to reach them. Alcott delivers these services through its contract with the los angeles county department of mental health. Clinical services include: o full psychosocial assessment o medication evaluation and support o individual, group and family therapy o crisis intervention o case management o education and support groups o independent living skills program o clinical field serviceso integrated dual diagnosis services addressing co-occurring substance use o linkage to bridge housing for those who are homelesso family therapyo psycho-educationmany clients enroll in our clinical program attended programs designed to focus on strengths and build resilience and community engagement. Well-being services include:o socialization activities o peer led groups o studio arts programo civic involvement, advocacy training, and social justice projectso family support/education groups the goals of the pico-robertson health neighborhood are to improve the health outcomes of the community through outreach and engagement, health education, and improved access and integrated care. Mental health leaders facilitate dialogues about current mental health topics including recovery, the impact of stigma, and treatment options. Last year, alcott hosted elyn saks, author of award-winning best-selling autobiography, the center cannot hold, who spoke about living with schizophrenia. Free to the general public, these events are designed to educate and inform. Working with los angeles county department of mental health, local faith-based organizations and the local neighborhood council, alcott also hosts federally certificated mental health first aid training to community members.
