This auxiliary is organized and shall at all times be operated exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes. The earnings of the volunteer services league, inc. (vsl) shall not inure to the benefit of any member, trustee, officer, or individual. The vsl shall not carry on propanganda or otherwise attempt to influence legislation. The primary purpose of the vsl shall be to foster interest among its members and the community in the work of hanford community hospital (hch), a non-profit california corporation. The vsl and its member shall make contributions of service and funds to hch to enable the hospital to accomplish its objectives.

Volunteer services league, inc. (vsl) supports the mission of hanford community hospital by providing volunteer services to the hospital, operating the hospital gift shop, and conducting fundraising activities. Vsl leases medical emergency alert machines to the community to allow communication between the hospital emergency department and the patient in need of medical assistance. These activities provide funding that is contributed to the operations/capital projects of hanford community hospital to enhance its ability to accomplish its objectives. Importantly, community members who access the emergency alert system receive assistance more quickly for the need being address, which usually is a medical emergency.
