Ywca glendale's mission is to empower women, girls and families in our communities through education and intervention to achieve independence, well-being, health, self-sufficiency and a life free from violence, and to draw people together to attain peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people. The ywca of glendale seeks to fulfill its mission by offering programs and services that meet the needs of the community.
Ywca glendale strives to address domestic violence by providing comprehensive services at no cost victims of domestic violence and their children. These services include: a 24-hour crisis hotline serving an area of 1. 1 million people. We offer counseling, community referral and access to shelter services. The sunrise village emergency shelter program, a 90-day safe-haven for women and their children. Services include meals, housing, counseling and social services; a children's counseling program, legal advocacy, case management, housing assistance, employment, education, healthcare and childcare. A domestic violence service center that offers case management, legal assistance, counseling, resources, referrals and childcare to adult survivors and their children. An education and outreach program that facilitates discussion on domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence, elder abuse and stalking. Annually, ywca glendale serves over 2000 participants. We served over 500 women and children through all of our dv programs combined. We provided 2,819 bed nights to 62 women and children and 7,8333 meals were provided at sunrise shelter. 1,818 support groups sessions; 2,088 individual counseling sessions; 145 counseling sessions to children; received 1,150 calls through our domestic violence crisis; helped 39 participants obtain legal services; and 39 participants obtained household assistance.
