The zigbee alliance is an association of companies working together to provide reliable, cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked, monitoring, and control products based on an open global standard.
The zigbee alliance promoted the zigbee brand globally to build market awareness. Zigbee alliance representatives participated in a wide variety of international conferences and tradeshows, offering speaking and education sessions at over 25 such conferences. The zigbee alliance produced three (3) newsletters, and each externally focused newsletter was distributed to over 50,000 recipients. To further keep the audience of interested parties, including the media and analyst communities, informed of current events in the community, the zigbee alliance produced eight (8) widely distributed news releases during 2016 and two (2) widely attended webinars. the zigbee alliance organizes meetings and discussions to help define standards-based specifications. These specifications are used by member companies to create interoperable products and solutions. The membership base of the zigbee alliance is global in nature so the meetings are organized and planned accordingly. During 2016, the zigbee alliance organized three member meetings. the zigbee alliance defines interoperability and conformance testing specifications. These specifications are used by implementers to ascertain their solutions have been defined and operate according to the specifications. During 2016, the zigbee alliance organized and supported over 20 interoperability test events, and on average organized and supported 80 technical working group teleconferences each. It made available to members software and hardware tools for confirming conformance to testing specifications.
