The immigrant policy project is designed to develop a unified voice for the hispanic immigrant community in order to ensure the social, legal and civil rights of the immigrants at the state and local levels and to promote equal civic and community participation and involvement, including increased access to financial services the healthcare reform project is designed to develop and support innovative ways to provide health insurance coverage to uninsured alabamaians through medicaid and private insurance providers, and to monitor, support and advocate for the implementation of the federal affordable care act in alabama the payday loan project is designed to advocate for reform of alabama's payday loan and title loan laws so as to reduce the interest rate on each to 36% apr and to engage in public and cpmmunity-wide education related to the perils of payday and title loans. during 2014 alabama appleseed worked for systemic policy reforms that achieve justice and fairness for low-income and unrepresented and other vulnerable populations achieve justice and fairness for low-income and unrepresented and other vulnerable populations achieve justice and fairness for low-income and unrepresented and other vulnerable populations
