Alabama voters against lawsuit abuse (avala) is a citizens' coalition devoted specifically to improving the alabama civil justice system. Avala's objectives are to (1) inform alabama voters about the costs of lawsuit abuse and an unfair court system; (2) invite citizens, small businesses, community leaders, medical professionals, associations, manufacturers and others to join together to improve alabama's civil justice system; and (3) urge citizens to speak out for improvements to our legal system and an end to lawsuit abuse.

In order to accomplish its objectives, alabama voters against lawsuit abuse (avala) is soliciting members and attempting to educate the public through media advertising and direct mailings. By raising public awareness of the problems associated with lawsuit abuse and the adverse effects on society as a whole, the organizers and members of avala hope to influence the attitudes of the alabama legislature and courts and therefore improve the judicial climate for all alabama citizens.
