Applied technology council was formed to implement current technological developments in structural and earthquake engineering into active engineering practices.

The applied technology council (atc) develops and promotes state-of-the-art, user-friendly engineering resources and applications for use in mitigating the effects of natural and other hazards on the built environment. Program activities during the year consisted of:earthquake engineering research and development projects for the federal emergency management agency (fema) structural engineering research and development projects for the national institute of standards and technology (nist) seminars & workshops other program activities.
