Adirondack rugby inc. (adk rugby) was established to further the development of amateur rugby and, in particular, organize and run the canam rugby tournament and sponsor rugby union football teams in the saranac lake area. With funds generated from the tournament we are sponsoring local men's and women's rugby teams, under 19 youth rugby teams and providing donations to local civic and youth activity organizations as well as scholarships to local students by way of their high school or local college.

This year's canam rugby tournament had over 100 participating amateur teams from both canada and the usa. The competition was made up of both male and female social teams and club teams in various age brackets as well as usa and canadian college, high school and quad rugby (wheelchair) teams. The tournament drew over 3,000 people to the local community with an average stay of 4 days. With funds generated from the tournament we sponsored local men's and women's rugby teams, donated $7,400 to 15 different local civic and youth organizations, and gave out $1,500 in 2 scholarships (the money being paid directly to the school).
