We were founded in 1939 and officially chartered in 1947. The founding fathers or our organization sought to bring together people of all races and cultures in a time when there was much animosity due to WWII. The founders envisioned an organization that would promote inclusiveness and respect, using a self defense model as a tool to bring people together.
