To receive and administer funds for scientific, educational, civic, athletic, patriotic, cultural, social, and charitable purposes, and to more specifically encourage and foster active lifestyles. At this time the primary activity is the joplin memorial marathon, which is held in may, and includes a full, half, -5k run and kids run in honor of the 161 victims of the may 22, 2011 tornado in joplin, mo. Proceeds of the event will allow us to support other 501 (c) 3 organizations, and to create and operate other active lifestyle type of events in the future. In our first year (2012) we were able to contribute over $30,000 to local charities. Our 2013 mission was to produce 161 banners in honor of the victims, which will be proudly displayed year after year at this signature event. In 2013 over $20,000 was donated and the banners were displayed proudly for the first time. In 2014 we donated over $20,000 again. 2015 and 2016 we supported the community with over $40,000 in donations. I

Joplin memorial marathon (formerly run and half) general expenses, this includes general operational costs of the event, excluding cash awards, prizes. A full marathon was added in 2016, but just for the 5th anniversary year. In 2017 a relay race was added as well. marketing expenses for the joplin memorial marathon. contract services which include race director $32,100 to oversee the entire race, a volunteer director $6,945 to manage all the volunteers and is responsible for recruiting all volunteers and services, two marketing people (manager and assistant) $8,733 and course certification services $760. all other expenses associated with the joplin memorial marathon and operation of the organization. $27,915 in grants, depreciation of $4,683, accounting services $3750, insurance $2340, and numerous other expenses necessary to carry out the functions of the race.
