Enriching the lives of at-risk youths to promote active citizenship

2013 activies included a summer "casino night", and a fall "bowling tournament". We hold mentoring events for the children of the esplanade house, a transitional supportive housing program for homeless families in chico, involving the chico police department and the chico fire department. Additionally we seek to place the at-risk children in front of as many artistic mediums as possible so that they may be able to react to anger or stressful situations in a healthy manner, rather than that including violence, alcohol and/or other substances. These events will help these children break the cycle of homelessness and enable them to become active citizens.
