The youth council serves greater nashua families struggling with acting out youth, parenting difficulties, alcohol and drug problems, and lack of school success. Our programs strive to strengthen families, improve risky decisions and reduce involvement with the juvenile justice system.

Family abuse & neglect program: strengthening families provides assessments, education and counseling to children, teens and families struggling with issues such as abuse, neglect,self-esteem, anxiety, and communication skills to end the cycle of abuse. Parenting classes are also provided. The program served 428 people during the current year. delinquent & pre-deliquent program: juvenile accountability provides assessments and intervention for acting out youth that are disruptive at home, in school or in the community. The agency works closely with the schools, court and police, including for youth committing minor delinquent offenses. During the year, 516 youth and parents were served. treatment & prevention of substance abuse program: this program provides services to help children and teens at risk for alcohol and other drug problems to develop healthy coping strategies, open lines of communication with parents and support youth on the path to recovery. Assessments and counseling sessions help to break the cycle of addiction. This year, 176 people were served.
