The primary purpose of the wtia workforce institute is to develop the best possible homegrown candidate pool by emphasizing diversity and assisting those underrepresented in the technology sector to successfully enter the high wage, rapid growth technology industry.

Job Training

In 2016, apprenti established its registered technology apprenticeship program in washington state with funding from the u. S. Department of labor (dol). To establish the program, apprenti filed seven occupations for state approval; established an assessment portal to identify candidates for apprenticeship; developed marketing collateral; launched a public relations effort to recruit candidates and employers; identified training providers; and identified funds to support training costs. Apprenti was also awarded an "intermediary contract" by the dol to expand tech apprenticeship nationally and began the groundwork to identify national hiring partners and affiliates.
