Hostel services & programs: ayh-boston hosts travelers from morethan 88 countries and more than 110,000 overnights annually. Thehostel is specifically designed to promote social interaction andexperiential learning, with communal environments that fosterconnection and conversation. Hostel programs also facilitateinteraction amongst people from diverse backgrounds. As travelersget to know each another, they are discovering their similaritiesand their differences, breaking down stereotypes and socialbarriers, expanding world views, and creating a more tolerantworld. college dormitory services: the residence hall at ayh-bostonhostel serves over 14,000 overnights annually. The hostel providesstudents with affordable, quality accommodation, participation inhostel services and programs, and the opportunity to interact withtravelers from around the world. Cultural education programs teachthe importance of intercultural exchange, responsible travel, andcommunity service. Travel education programs teach travel skillsand encourage open-mindedness and cultural awareness. Hostelvolunteer and intern programs provide career trainingopportunities. education & engagement programs: hi boston delivers engagement andeducation programs to visiting travelers, community members andnonprofit partner organizations in the boston area. Hi bostonalso sponsors a travel scholarship program to groups of inner-cityyouth which provides them experiential learning opportunities athostels in the boston cape and islands. Programs promote travelawareness, open-mindedness, and respect for different cultures tocommunity members, visiting travelers, and scholarship recipients.
