Programs

Collaboration:baatc is on the advisory board of 'no traffick ahead', building collective impact with over 60 agencies in 9 bay area counties to build capacity of service providers, and combine efforts to spread awareness. Baatc is also actively involved in the work of task forces or coalitions in seven bay area counties, with the goal of connecting all who are involved in fighting trafficking in order to share resources, develop best practices and avoid duplication of efforts. Baatc also facilitates an awareness campaign in partnership with 'stop the traffick', which has involved over 20 other local non-profit organizations that will be a part of reaching new demographics with information about trafficking. training:baatc partnered with 'no traffick ahead' to develop a hotel human trafficking awareness training, which has been rolled out to hotels in three bay area counties. As more hotels are trained, we continue to bring the training to more individual properties. Also, in 2017, baatc has trained over 1600 individuals in schools, in faith communities, at conference, in civic groups, and countless more via the media to understand what human trafficking is, what the red flags are, and how to report it. before our very eyes (bove)- a signature program of the baatc, the freedom summit, held bi-annually, got reinvented in 2017 to become a local, interactive exhibition that is mobile and travels to communities around the bay area. The bove model includes local programming that features local congresspersons, local law enforcement, county officials and local activists who help shape the day (or week-long events like at the 2017 san mateo county fair) that brings awareness and education about local human trafficking to everyday citizens who may not have otherwise ever attended an anti-human trafficking training. Bove is proving very effective in its current form which has reached thousands of citizens in redwood city and throughout san mateo county.
