Mission

World children's initiative, inc. , is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving medical and educational systems for children in developing areas worldwide. Wci accomplishes its mission through strategic partnerships with public and private entities, and believes that "smart" infrastructure design and targeted education can greatly enhance outcomes for deserving and under-resourced children.

Project heart: uganda - throughout 2013, wci primarily focused its efforts on project heart: uganda, which is focused on developing the children's heart program at the ugandan heart institute (uhi) in kampala, uganda. Wci's efforts have focused primarily on educating and training uhi healthcare providers to manage and treat children with cardiac problems. Wci performed clinical service and training trip to kampala in february 2013 to provide hands-on, on-site training and cardiac catheterization procedures at the facility. Wci sponsored and supported dr. Lubega (from uhi) to formally train in a fellowship at amrita medical institute in india on performing interventional pediatric cardiac procedures. Wci also performs bi-weekly online sessions to review pediatric cardiac cases and teach dr. Lubega and uhi personnel. In october 2013, wci hosted a charity benefit for project heart: uganda in washington dc. This event was to raise awareness and funds for our efforts in kampala, uganda. In
