ACO's programs include information and referral, rent and utility assistance, job bank counseling and placement, youth scholarships, the ACO Resale Shop(which grew out of a clothes closet), confidential counseling, Meals-On-Wheels & More, Fill-the-Bus school supply drive, Thanksgiving food boxes, and Christmas Adopt a Child, Teen, or Senior. According to the most recent information gathered from the outcomes of ACO, the total client database consists of 57% women, head of household with 3 or 4 children living on $15,000 annually. The three major ethnicities were served almost equally - Blacks 26%, Caucasian 35%, and Hispanic population 35%. Almost 72% of these counseled individuals qualified as low income families. The population in Allen ISD reported that 27% of its children grades K-6 qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program. These families are the individuals who create a new profile referred to as the "working poor."
