Programs

New bridge project - community participation initiative provides technical assistance and on-site coaching to help staff make accomodations to programs, either one-on-one or in a group setting. By creating partnerships with community agencies the institute continues to offer opportunities for children and adults to take part in integrated community activities, such as summer camps and to expand the number of community agencies that include people with disabilities. community broker project- compliments the bridge and community participation projects by actively working to find employment and places to live for participants. This is in addition to promoting involvement in community activities. Community brokering begins with a personal future planning session that prepares for and connects people to meaningful activities, competitive employment , and inclusive living arrangements of their own choice. The pre-employment training teaches essentials like identifying strengths and gifts, navigating transportation, manaing ones own volunteer experience, creating lasting community connection, and potentiall using fewer services. various other program services related to the accomplishment of the institutes goals and objectives.
