The Danville Family YMCA was founded in 1883 to serve men and young boys. It has evolved to an inclusive organization focusing on families as well as the men. Women make up nearly 50% of the membership. We provide all of our services on a sliding fee scale and are open to anyone regardless of race or religion. Our mission is seen through our emphasis on character development focusing on caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty. These values are incorporated into all of our programming. Contributions to the YMCA help fund the financial assistance program and many youth programs. The fees charged for youth programs do not cover all of the cost and we are dependent on donations from those wanting to help.
