The goal of Y.E.S. (Youth Eyecare Services) Vision and Literacy initiative is to identify students with visual impairments, to eliminate or correct them and promote literacy through outreach efforts, community partnerships and rehabilitative services.

1st Veterans’ Kids Care housing programs provide services for the children and families of veterans. We will also help veterans by providing guidance for them throughout the process of receiving housing assistance with the goal being independent living.The Vision and Literacy Program, established by Y.E.S., Youth Eyecare Services, will provide vision evaluations to members of communities specifically targeting children with the goal of enhancing student performance and their chances for success. The Vision and Literacy Initiative will provide vision evaluations specifically targeting children with the goal of enhancing student performance and their chances for success. Y.E.S. will: identify children with vision problems, provide vision exams by a licensed optometrist, provide eyewear at no cost for children, provide follow up and measure the impact the vision intervention has on improvements in literacy.
