Ymca of san joaquin county step-up program:the ymca operates 20 free after school sites in partnership with stockton unified school district (step-up) and 7 sites in partnership with lodi unified school district (bridge). Each site serves over 90 students a day, totaling to over 3,000 youth that the y impacts daily. These programs offer tutorial and homework help, physical fitness activities through the s. P. A. R. K. S. Curriculum, and enrichment activities. The y is part of a larger partnership with organizations like the university of the pacific, the table community foundation and the city of lodi to serve multiple elementary schools county wide. The funding for this program comes from both state and federal sources. ymca of san joaquin county child care program:the ymca operates 3 licensed child care centers in san joaquin county. Ymca child care is a fee based program for kindergarten through eighth grade students attending lodi unified school district. The program currently operates at julia morgan, manlio silva, and podesta ranch elementary schools. With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, the program gives kids a variety of programmatic and enrichment options to explore and develop their interests and talents. The goal is to provide a safe, secure and caring place in which children can make friends, learn new skills, continue to develop positive self-esteem, and have fun. The program serves about 125 students daily. ymca of san joaquin county youth sports program:the ymca offers sports leagues year round for children between the ages of 3 through 17 in san joaquin county. The focus is on helping children of all levels develop fundamentals, teamwork, self-confidence and new skills. The emphasis for the younger participants (3-9 years of age) is on building character, skills development and fundamentals of the game. The program for the older participants (10-17 years of age) is a bit more competitive and has a more intense atmosphere. Over the past year, this program has served over 2,000 children. ymca of san joaquin county aquatics program:the ymca offers aquatics programs at 2 pools in stockton. Programs include swimming lessons, water aerobics, lap swim and recreational swim. Ymca swimming lessons are more than just stroke development. They also include water safety, sports and games, and rescue skills all taught with an emphasis on the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The ymca served more than 1,200 individuals in aquatics. Ymca of san joaquin county healthy living initiative: at the y, we believe that all people deserve to live to their fullest potential. That is why we host a community health fair and healthy kids day event each year. The goal of these events is to bring families together and provide education, local resources and hands-on activities that promote healthy lifestyles. These events also help families get access to healthcare and develop healthy connections which leads to building the foundations of a stronger more safe community. Ymca of san joaquin county high school leadership camps: the y operates 3 teen leadership camps throughout the year. This program runs during school breaks to offer youth year-long activities when there is a school break. The program is for youth in stockton and targets low income areas, specifically south stockton. The teen program (back2bac: back 2 believing and changing stockton) includes leadership workshops, skills training, enrichment and physical fitness activities. Ymca of san joaquin county lions pride & little rascals preschool program: the ymca operates 2 state of california licensed preschool centers for linden unified school district, providing preschool curriculum, and before and afterschool care.
