Aatn is a statewide resource that exists to bring solutions to the very real problem of sex and human trafficking in arizona. Creating awareness, researching, and training in the most current anti-trafficking methods is the work of aatn and its partners. In 2017, aatn gathered the efforts of trust training and resources united to stop trafficking, cease az cities engaged against sexual exploitation, and csi community schools initiatives to bring attention and awareness to the problem of human trafficking in az. Community educational sessions and gatherings were held with over 200 attendees featuring knowledgeable speakers from organizations working in the field of human trafficking 20 superior court judges attended a judicial education session on human trafficking 18 seventh and eighth grade youth were provided an after-school program how to recognize the signs of trafficking, improving self-esteem issues, and how to avoid predators on-line. 14 police officers, a judge and a county prosecutor were sponsored to travel to new orleans for a national human trafficking conference. New methods to interrupt commercial sex transactions were introduced to law enforcement around az with great success. Coalitions were formed in western az and northern az to bring more community awareness to the problem of human trafficking in az.
