The albert einstein healthcare network is a not-for-profit corporation that controls related organizations in a health care delivery system serving the greater delaware valley through sole membership in those related organizations. The albert einstein healthcare network ("aehn"), the parent company, together with its related member organizations, comprises the albert einstein healthcare network ("network"). Einstein community health associates ("echa") is a controlled organization through sole aehn membership. Echa incorporates physician office operations providing primary care services in the community. Echa provides primary medical care, including pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology and family medicine to individuals who reside within the primary service area of aehn. Echa physician providers serve to foster access to medical services for individuals who are in need of primary care, but who otherwise may not have a family physician. Enhanced accessibility in underserved areas can lead to improved health status and a reduction in dependence on the healthcare system. Echa specifically targets those individuals within the service area who may be most vulnerable to illness, serving the elderly, expectant mothers, newborns and others with needed medical care.
