Annual state convention :held annually for members blind and visually impaired. The convention includes hands on workshops like : assistive technology demonstrations, effective advocacy techniques, and helpful resources for those who are blind or visually impaired. Number of persons attending : 70. Location : cincinnati, ohio. Dates held : october 24-26, 2014. student scholarship program :awarded annually to college students who will teach blind and visually impaired children. Five scholarships were awarded. annual summer and winter retreats :offered to provide physical and social activities otherwise not available to the blind and visually impaired. The winter retreat was held near cleveland, ohio on january 17-20, 2014. The summer retreat was held august 1-3, 2014. Activities included : boating, jet skiing, bike riding, sledding, and hiking. Number of persons attending : summer - 15. Winter - 30. annual midyear national meeting : attended by five participants in washington dc on february 22-25, 2014. Meetings were with congressional members informing them about key issues impacting the blind and visually-impaired.
