While fulfilling this mission, the organization underwent a rebranding, from 24 hours of booty to 24 foundation, which will allow for more individual and corporate donors, and strategic partners in the future. Additionally, more than $2 million was raised for cancer navigation and survivorship programs primarily through the peer-to-peer fundraising efforts of more than 2,500 cyclists and walkers across our three 24-hour events. The host cities for the 24 foundation events are indianapolis, in, charlotte, nc, and new in 2017, baltimore, md. Below are the accomplishments of our organization in 2017, including new beneficiaries funded through our first annual formal grants process:our contribution to livestrong, the national beneficiary of 24 foundation, was directed to maintain the livestrong patient navigation programs supporting cancer survivorship. These navigation programs continue to address extraordinarily important needs of cancer survivors facing questions and concerns with topics such as insurance, employment, finances, emotions, medical options and fertility preservation. Our contribution of a 4-year, $1. 5m commitment, that is to be paid in 2016 through 2019, to carolinas healthcare foundation will be distributed at the levine cancer institute and the levine children's hospital. Our funding to the levine cancer institute provided important services to cancer survivors undergoing treatment that are not covered by traditional insurance plans. Such services include, but are not limited to, patient navigation, dietician consultation, art therapy, support groups, yoga and tai chi, acupuncture and more. In addition to these services, 24 foundation has continued to fund the carolinas cancer wellness program for a tenth year. The cancer wellness program is a twelve-week program designed to assist in managing the physical side effects of cancer treatment during treatment and recovery phases for survivors. Through our support of levine children's hospital [lch], we provided funding for the childhood cancer champions program. This $300,000 commitment helps to improve the long-term health and well-being of childhood cancer survivors by promoting adherence to follow-up appointments and screen tests. In addition to providing timely referrals to specialists, such as psychological counseling for childhood cancer patients, these funds also provide enhanced educational material and facilitation of transition from lch to adult care at levine cancer institute. Our contribution to indiana university simon cancer center of indianapolis, indiana, a new partner in 2017, allowed 24 foundation to support the highest level of patient care at iu health, with their focus on developing more effective approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
