Mission

Unemployment in Israel is at an all-time high. According to government statistics, 35% of the population lives in poverty and more than half of these people are children. This means that there are over 925,800 Israeli children living in poverty. Government assistance for these families is down due to the high expenditures for security. The result has been a significant increase in malnutrition with the resultant health problems for the elderly, and behavioral and learning problems for the young. Hazon Yeshaya is trying to alleviate the problem with food assistance for immediate relief and vocational training as a long term solution.
