Mary's medical center foundation, saginaw, michigan held two special events (1) cornette ball and (2) a golf outing. Proceeds from the cornette ball supported the purchase of a digital breast tomosynthesis mammography system. The breast tomosynthesis is an advanced type of mammogram that can offer better cancer detection and provides a higher diagnostic accuracy compared to conventional mammography. The new imaging technique provides clearer images, greater accuracy in early detection, fewer unnecessary biopsies and improved patient comfort. Proceeds from the golf outing supported the purchase of a new ct simulator for the st. Mary's of michigan seton cancer institute. This new simulator can pinpoint with even greater accuracy of the tumor site, enabling the radiation oncologist to plan a very specific treatment plan based on the patient's breathing patterns. In addition, the simulator is wider, which provides a more comfortable experience for patients. With the generous gifts donated to us by patients, families, physicians, associates and community members, the st. Mary's medical center foundation , saginaw, michigan enables st.
