Crittenton hospital is committed to the advancement of medical education. As a teaching hospital, crittenton provides both residents and student nurses experiences and the opportunity to fulfill a vital role in patient care. Affiliated with wayne state university (detroit, mi), crittenton has the following residency programs: internal medicine, family medicine, and transitional year. Crittenton is defined by its vision for a healthier community. In an effort to engage with the communities in oakland, macomb, and lapeer counties, crittenton provides many resources that benefit the entire community. Such resources include various classes, events, along with an on-line community to learn about new topics, tips, and health resources for everyone in the family. Crittenton has 290 licensed beds, 10,758 patient discharges which resulted in 46,854 patient days of care. In addition, crittenton had 636 deliveries, 29,087 emergency visits, 7,735 surgeries (both i/p & o/p) along with 78 open heart procedures. The hospital had 1,080 full-time equivalents (ftes).
