Aser held a continuing medical education meeting of the leading experts in the practice of enhanced recovery in april 2017 in washington, dc. The congress was attended by over 375 people and offered keynotes, educational sessions, symposiums and workshops. the american society for enhanced recovery became affiliated with the anesthesia & analgesia (a&a or journal) published by the international anesthesia research society (iars). Anesthesia & analgesia, and the newsletter aser alert are provided to all members and include presentations on enhanced recovery principles, guidelines and ongoing research the last five of six aser leadership forum were held in 2017 where a team of implementation experts gave advice and guidance so as to ensure a hospital's transition to a set of enhanced recovery principles goes as smoothly as possible. These small group workshops for 24-30 persons include two days of lectures, discussion and protocol development with multidisciplinary teams.
