As an organization of physicians in the state of california who care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults, the corporation seeks to promote this goal by encouraging and assisting its members in their efforts to meet the overall health needs of children and youth, by providing support and counsel to others concernedwith the well-being of children, their growth and development, and by serving as an advocate for children and their families within the community at large. The corporation believes in the attainment by all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults of their full potential for physical, mental, emotional, and social health. Together with those who share this purpose, the corporation pledges its efforts and expertise to a fundamental goal -- that all children and youth have the opportunity to grow up safe and strong, with faith in the future and in themselves. To accomplish its purposes, the corporation shall coordinate, encourage, aid and educate physicians

The aap-ca is an organized group of approximately 5,000 board-certified pediatrician members of four california regional chapters. The organization is committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents and young adults living in california. The organization sponsors educational conferences and meetings, the largest of which is the annual meeting. Expenses for the annual meeting in the current year were $250,275. other organization expenses in support of exempt programs. aap-ca promotes the interests of children living in california and of california pediatricians in the policy arena through education of policy-makers and related advocacy regarding matters pertaining to the aap-ca mission.
