The hospital is a 101-bed acute care and 51-bed skilled nursing facility in delano, california serving a primarily rural population of approximately 84,000. The health facilities provide a full range of primary and secondary acute care services, sub acute, skilled nursing, and comprehensive emergency, outpatient and ambulatory care services. To meet the needs of the residents of its service area, the hospital has steadily expanded its services over time since it was first opened. The hospital's primary health facility, delano regional medical center, was originally constructed as an acute care hospital. Since its opening, additions to the hospital and the expansion into other facilities in the surrounding area have included a women's clinic in downtown delano and the wasco medical plaza in wasco, ca.
